Health Kits for Haiti
This morning, the Missions Committee organized an effort to assemble Health Kits from donations received over the past week (see the list of items in last week's post). Adults and kids came together around the table at Fellowship Time following Worship to pack about twenty Kits, which will be sent to UMCOR and will make their way to Haiti or another area as the need arises.
For more information on United Methodist efforts in Haiti, see Earthquake in Haiti: The Church Responds.
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

update from HUMCannounce:
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone who provided materials to build the health kits for Haiti last Sunday. Because of your generosity there are already 13 complete kits, but we have at least 15 incomplete bags so we are asking you to consider bringing more items to finish these additional kits. Please join the missions committee again in the Fellowship Hall this Sunday, January 30th, during coffee time after worship(10:00-10:30) to assemble the remaining kits.
We still need:
* nail clippers or nail files
* hand towels
* sturdy combs
* a few bars of soap (someone found Ivory soap with French writing on it!)
* cash for the toothpaste and shipping
